Ozone sterilization
In the treatment processes of ozone sterilizer in COD removal for industrial waste water, decoloration, catalytic oxidation, sterilization and disinfection, odor removal and secondary water supply disinfection, ozone generates O with high oxidizability and redox potential of 2.07V. Under the strong oxidation, multiple elements inside biological cells will react and irreversible change and death. Ozone sterilization or bacteriostatic action usually is based on comprehensive physical, chemical and biological reactions.
The mechanism of action can be concluded as follows: it firstly acts on cytomembrane the transparency of which is thus increased, causing outflow of substances in the cell and activity loss of the cell; then it devitalizes the enzyme required for cells’ activity; lastly, it destroys the genetic materials in cell or makes it lose its function. While for bacterium and mould removal, the ozone firstly acts on the cytomembrane to damage the constitution of membrane, leading to metabolism failure and growth inhibition. The ozone continues to penetrate into the tissue inside the membrane till its death. Only nontoxic oxides are generated during the sterilization and the remaining ozone can be finally reverted to oxygen with not residues on the sterilized objects. Therefore, it can be directly used for food sterilization, which is incomparable to any other chemical disinfection methods.
Ozone sterilizer is widely applied to the sterilization of mineral water, pure water, spring water and beverage, disinfection of civil tap water and swimming pool water, sterilization, mold prevention, preservation, residual pesticide treatment of food, aquatic products, fruits and vegetables, sewage treatment, decoloration and COD decrease of printing waste water, as well as air disinfection of factories, hospitals, and hotels.
