Water softener
Softener (demineralizer) is a kind of ion exchange softener with full automatic control during operation and regeneration. By virtue of na-type cation exchange resin, it removes calcium and magnesium ions in water, reduces raw water hardness to soften hard water and avoid scaling of carbonate in pipeline, container and boiler. As a result, it greatly saves investment cost and ensures smooth production. At present, it is widely applied in circulation water feed of various equipment and systems like steam boiler, hot water boiler, water cooling boiler, heat exchanger, steam condenser, air conditioner and direct-fired machine. In addition, it can also be treated as domestic water, industrial water treatment of food, electroplate, medicine, chemical engineering, printing and dyeing, textile and electronics and preprocessing of desalination system. The water hadrness after single-grade or multi-grade softener treatment can be substantially decreased.
Softener can be divided into traditional hand valve and American autocontrol valve. The autocontrol valve has one control for one tank or one control for two tanks. There are two control methods (time and flow). The former one is easy to operate, with high flow of a single machine. While the later one after setting regeneration time or flow will automatically repeat regeneration without operation by hand. The maximum operating flow shall be no more than 45m³/h. The softener is installed with cation, and regenerates with brine (NaCI) after adsorbing saturation.
Full automatic softener is extensively applied in hot water furnace, low and medium steam boiler, central air conditioner, industrial circulating cooling, textile printing and dyeing, food and washing industries for removing calcium and magnesium ions in water. The ion exchanger preparing softened water is called softener. The calcium and magnesium ions constituting hardness in water replace with ion exchange resin in softener and replaced by sodium or hydrogen so as to obtain softened water. It can also be used in preprocessing of desalination system.
