Carbon removal apparatus

  Carbon remover (degassing tower, decarbonization tower) is a kind of equipment that removes free carbon dioxide from water. In ion exchange water process, common carbon remover is blast packing carbon remover. The equipment that removers free CO2 from water reduces corrosion on boiler hot water system, condensate water system and boiler vapor system, relieves load of anion exchanger, and improves economical efficiency of chemical desalination process and effluent quality. The tank is divided into three parts: The upper part is installed with water distribution device and air outlet; the middle part is installed with packing; the lower part is installed with air inlet and effluent device. There are perforated plates between the middle and lower parts.
 
    The principle of carbon remover is to remove free carbon dioxide with blast degassing. The water is introduced from the upper part of the equipment, flows past the surface of the packing layer through the spray system. The air reversely crosses the packing layer from the lower tuyere. The free carbon dioxide in water is quickly resolved into air and discharged from the top. Generally in water treatment process, it is set at the back of hydrogen ion exchanger and reverse osmosis equipment. In normal preparation, after degassing by carbon remover, the residual carbon dioxide in water shall be no more than 5mg/L. It is installed with packing plastic multi-aspect hollow sphere or Raschig ring. At the same time, other auxiliary equipment of the carbon remover is provided such as tapering tank, sealing water pipe and supporting draught fan.
 
    The carbon remover is generally set at the back of cation exchanger or reverse osmosis device, removing free carbon dioxide from water. Another purpose of degassing tower is aerating device, mainly used for front aeration of deironing and manganese filter. By means of oxidation treatment for the iron and manganese, it better adsorbs and removes iron and manganese in water. Compared with pipeline aeration, it has larger gas flow. Therefore, the oxidation effect will be better. Compared with air blower aeration, the degassing tower aeration adopts centrifugal fan with smaller power so as to substantially save electric energy. Thus, it is more extensively applied.
